Directions from Galway -- Three Options

The coast road -- a beautiful, if somewhat treacherous, drive. Experience the Galteacht and stunning views. And remember that if you do get lost, you are still having a better day than if you were in the office!

Leave Galway through the Salt Hill area to the west.
Stay on the L100 through Spiddle and Rossaveel.
At Screebe, turn west onto L200 through Kilkerrin, Carna, Cashel, Roundstone, and Ballyconneelly.
At Clifden, turn onto N59 toward Letterfrack.
At Letterfrack, turn north toward Renvyle and Tullycross.
At Tullycross, turn on to coast road toward Leenane (when facing the church, the road is at "9 o'clock."
Travel on coast road for about 2.75 miles, until you pass a very small bridge (no more than 10 feet long).
Carnmore is about 0.25 miles on right, above the road by about 50 yards.
Mary Kerrigan's house is about 1/4 mile further down the road, just after an "S" turn.

Through Oughterard -- a more direct route, through the great town of Oughterard

Leave Galway on N59 toward Moycullen, Oughterard, Maam Cross, and Recess.
After the small chapel just past Recess, turn right toward the Lough Inagh region.
After 7- miles, you will "dead end" into the N59 again.
Turn west toward Letterfrack.
At Letterfrack, turn north toward Renvyle and Tullycross.

Through Leenane -- much like Oughterard, but a chance to enjoy The Killary.

Leave Galway on N59 toward Moycullen, Oughterard, and Maam Cross.
At Maam Cross, turn north onto L100 through "Joyce Country".
At Maam, stay north on L100 toward Leenane.
At Leenane, go west on N59 toward Letterfrack.
About 2 miles after veering away from The Killary itself and 1 mile after the Killary Centre Lodge, look for a small road and turn left (north).
Hang onto your seat for the next 6 miles of bumpy, one lane road that you will share with the sheep!
After passing King's shop and the beach, you will come on the National School.
After the National School, the road bends sharply to the right.
Carnmore is about 0.5 miles on left, above the road by about 50 yards.
Mary Kerrigan's house is about 1/4 mile back down the road, just after the National School.
